There are multiple ways you can get a Microsoft Excel license without paying for it
- If you are a student – your school may be giving licenses to all its students (US and Canada for sure)
- If you use Excel at work – it means: your employer assigned Microsoft license to you. With Microsoft Business License you can install Microsoft Excel on up to 5 Windows or Mac computers (including personal devices). See this Microsoft article for details. Open office.com on you personal laptop. Log in with your work Microsoft Windows Account. Then choose Install apps -> Install Excel.
- You might have an old personal laptop with pre-installed office on it. Even an old MS Excel will work. You don’t have to use the modern Microsoft Subscription
